So, I decided to make a quick explanation as to what a rune is since I’m finally starting to put them in my items section. A rune is a symbol that is made by an Amilaa that only works for the Nephilim race. They give various bonuses and abilities to a person or item it is placed upon, yes, I said item. There are a few runes built for weapons or various items that enhance them but are still can only be created by a Nephilim, but once created, any player can use said enhanced item (of course that is depending on the rune). However I was sitting there, trying to come up with a way to incorporate a cost to these runes if I was gonna make it last a long time or even a short while, boosts like this shouldn’t just be free, so then it hit me. I finally came up with the idea, why not make the cost a bit gruesome? After all they are elite warriors right? So, I decided that every time a Nephilim hits a monster with his/her Seraph Blade, if the party, or just the Nephilim, kills the monster, then it’s soul will then add soul points to the Nephilim’s amilaa. 1 point per CR of the monster. For example: Your party takes on an Allip, which has a CR of 3, so the amilaa gains 3 soul points (sp) to its resivoir for later use. There is no max sp, but should you find that it is being questioned too much, just say it’s 10,000. Also, when fighting any undead, the sp gained from the fight is tripled. Back to the rune info now. The rune is permanent once upon the skin of a hunter. There are only two ways to get rid of it, a hunter can use and erasing rune to remove all his/her runes, or if the rune is damaged enough (by acid or like by cutting it off) it will fade. There are only a few exceptions, such as an elemental rune or the binding rune. Those are completely permanent and won’t ever go away.
